  • Ys Book I & II is a game that, while dated in many ways, is a worthwhile play for any Wii-owning RPG fan and a good example of what a Virtual Console game should be. Unless you are among the hardest of the hardcore RPG fans out there, you probably are...

  • Beautiful animation sequences; killer soundtrack; voice acting....in a 16-bit game!
  • Battle system is awkward; enemies are too strong; a little too much backtracking.
  • Attacking without an attack button takes some getting used to, but Ys Book I & II is still a fine adventure-RPG thats way ahead of its era and contains possibly one of the best videogame soundtracks of all time.
